By Onkar Singh| Cointelegraph | Posted April 3, 2022
Web3, also known as the "read-write-trust web" and the "decentralized web," aspires to take control of the web away from monopolistic tech giants like Amazon, Google, Microsoft and give the control of users’ data and content back to the users. So, how will Web3 work and how is Web3 DNS different from traditional domains?
03/04/2022 - How DAOs will transform the future of Web3
By Anthony Georgiades, Pastel Network @panthonylg | VB Data Decision Makes | Posted May 28, 2022 6:40 AM
"Innovation is at the center of all disruptive ideas and technologies that have seen mass adoption on a global scale. The progression of the internet represents a relationship between such innovation and persistent dedication to a seemingly unfathomable future. In order to truly define the world of tomorrow and prepare companies, applications and organizations to begin scaling what is known as Web3, we first must understand the history of the internet and web and its natural evolution toward a future built on verifiability, trust-free services and decentralized protocols".

Polkadot: Web3 Foundation's flagship protocol
By Staff | polkadot.network/about/ | 2022
Polkadot is the flagship project by Web3 Foundation, a Swiss Foundation founded to facilitate a fully functional and user-friendly decentralized web.
The Web3 Foundation is partnering with best-in-class entities to build Polkadot and foster development of the services and applications that will run on it. Researchers from Inria Paris and ETH Zurich, developers from Parity Technologies, and capital partners from crypto-funds such as Polychain Capital are all working together to develop a superlative realization of Web3, with Polkadot at its core. Polkadot is a scalable sharded chain and the first protocol that provides a secure environment for cross-chain composability.
Project Galaxy
By Staff | | 2022
Project Galaxy is a Web3 credential data network. It is an open and collaborative infrastructure and helps Web3 developers and projects use digital credentials to build better products and communities with users’ feedback and comments.
Project Galaxy provides the infrastructure for community members to curate and contribute digital credentials to the Galaxy Credential Data Network. The infrastructure supports curating credentials through multiple data sources. Curators can contribute data from 7 different chains with subgraph queries or snapshots for on-chain credentials. They can also provide data from Twitter, Discord, Github, or offline events for off-chain credentials.
Project Galaxy also provides Application Modules, Credential API, and a Credential Oracle Engine to help developers leverage credential data. Use cases of the Application Modules include Galaxy OATs (On-chain Achievement Tokens), NFT loyalty programs, growth hacking campaigns, gated community, and customized governance. Developers can also utilize the Credential Oracle Engine and Credential API for enhanced customized use cases such as credit scoring and Sybil attack prevention algorithms.

Web3 Foundation
Web3 Foundation funds research and development teams building the technology stack of the decentralized web. It was established in Zug, Switzerland by Ethereum co-founder and former chief technology officer Dr. Gavin Wood. Polkadot is the Foundation’s flagship project. Web3 Foundation believes in an internet where: users own their own data, not corporations; global digital transactions are secure; and online exchanges of information and value are decentralized.

Five layears descriptions: L4; L3; L2; L1; and L0.
Polkadot Subprotocols
Subprotocols that make up Polkadot. It focuses largely on end-to-end mechanics and the properties relevant at this layer; for point-to-point mechanics see Networking. Nominated Proof-of-Stake. Block production. Finality. Availability and Validity. XCMP.
XCMP: Cross-Chain Message Passing
XCMP is a decentralized messaging protocol that emphasizes privacy and security. Cross-Chain Message Passing (XCMP) scheme is a subset of the Polkadot protocol. It defines how messages can be passed among parachains with no additional trust assumptions beyond the economic security of the relay chain. This write-up addresses the messaging protocol of parachains and relies heavily on Polkadot’s unique relay chain architecture and design.
